Banquets & Receptions

The atmospheric medieval barrel-vaulted Great Hall of Balgonie Castle is the oldest and finest preserved hall in Fife, if not Central Scotland. It makes the perfect candlelit venue for an unforgettable wedding reception, banquet or party, seating up to 58 people.

The room has several interesting features, including the original stone window seats, the rebuilt minstrels gallery, the heraldic banners of the past Lairds of Balgonie and a finely carved door commemorating the visits of James VI and Mary, Queen of Scots.

The hire of the Great Hall also includes the use of the vaulted ground floor room of the Tower. Due to the remarkable acoustics of the Great Hall, and out of consideration for others wishing to engage in conversation, no amplification is permitted.
