Welcome to the
historic 14th century Balgonie Castle, situated in the heart of the
Kingdom of Fife and perched above the winding River Leven - home of the
Laird, Lady and Younger of Balgonie and Eddergoll.
In recent years, Balgonie
Castle has been undergoing a slow but detailed restoration to return it
to its former glory with great effort being made to preserve its unique
atmosphere.
We are proud to
announce our Catering Kitchen. Balgonie Castle has
passed the Fife Council Inspection
and will be a registered catering
kitchen. We can do simple menus for a maximum of 56.
We still have one
of the best Caterer's in Scotland working
with us to provide
a more formal event.

Since the restoration of
the Chapel in 1989, the Castle has become accepted as one of the most
romantic wedding venues in Scotland and an Evening Chapel service is held in the
Chapel on the third Sunday of each month.
Balgonie's Great Hall is
the ideal setting for weddings, banquets and receptions, corporate
events and parties. In fact, the whole Castle is the perfect backdrop for
photographs of those unforgettable moments.
Balgonie Castle is within
easy travelling distance of the major Scottish cities. Less than an
hour's drive from Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth and Dundee.
Balgonie Castle is a
private home and can not offer accommodation. A list of Hotels and
Guesthouses are available on request.
The Ground Floor
Lundie Hall is available for Civil Ceremonies, Corporate Events,
Lectures, Fundraising and other events.
Balgonie
Castle is very proud of all our volunteers, especially McAndries, Tom
Johnston and John Winton for 1oo's of hours of donated labour.

At Balgonie
Castle, we understand the couples needs especially when it comes to
size. We can only sit a maximum of 70 people in the Lundie Hall
and 58 in the Great Hall. We sincerely appreciate kind remarks
such as this..

Morgan and i have decided to hold our wedding at Craigsanquar Hotel mainly based on guest numbers and proximity to our house. I wanted you to know that we found Kelly to be one of the best and most welcoming wedding coordinators we found. Your welcome pack was fabulous! We found the Laird to be one of the most interesting men we have ever met. His historical knowledge is astonishing and it was also beautiful to see his passion and skill for restoring your ancient castle.
