How much does it cost to hire the castle for my wedding? |

How long can I hold a booking without obligation? |
|
Provisional bookings for a specific date can be held on behalf of a client for a maximum of 4 weeks without a deposit. |

When is my payment due? |
|
A non-refundable deposit as explained on the Fees & Packages page is required on confirmation of the booking. The balance of the venue fee is due 8 weeks prior to the event. |

Can I bring my own caterer? |
|
When hiring the castle for a wedding reception all clients must use the caterers appointed by Balgonie Castle. |
|
What do I get for my money? |
|
The fee quoted is for use of the wedding venue booked and everything else on the wedding pakage (chairs, candles, altar table). The venue and grounds are available as a backdrop for wedding photography and a drinks reception area is included to serve a celebratory drink after the wedding ceremony. A unique, heraldic style wedding certificate painted and written by The Laird of Balgonie. Free guests parking also available adjacent to the castle. |

Do I have exclusive use of the Venue? |
|
Unlike other castles, you will have private use of the castle for the duration of your wedding. |
|
What are the maximum capacities at each venue? |
|
The following capacities include everyone in attendance - bridal party, minister, musicians and wedding guests.
Chapel - 70 (+30 on extended area)

Who sets up the venue for my wedding ceremony? |
|
The Younger of Balgonie sets up the Chapel or Great Hall for your wedding. |
|
Is smoking permitted? |
|
Smoking is not allowed in any of the venues in Scotland due to new legislation. It is only allowed outside in the courtyard. |

Is confetti permitted? |
|
Yes, any kind, but outside in the courtyard. |
